Our choir

Welcome to our website where you can find out all about Brampton Chamber Choir, who we are, the music we sing, where we perform and how to contact us. You can find our latest newsletter here with concert information and our most recent review here.

Brampton Chamber Choir is based in Brampton, Cumbria, UK. We have around 25 singing members and specialise in Early Music, particularly works from the Renaissance and Early Baroque. Usually we sing unaccompanied, but sometimes will perform with instrumentalists or chamber ensembles.

Our singers mainly come from the Brampton area, but we have members from Carlisle, Alston Moor, Cockermouth and Whitehaven. We perform regularly in Lanercost Priory and St Martin’s Church, Brampton. We have also sung in churches across North Cumbria as well as Carlisle and Lancaster cathedrals. There is more on the music we love to sing here.

Our musical director is Simon Mortimer. Simon has been a singer with Brampton Chamber Choir for many years. Simon also directs and sings with Brampton Consort, a smaller ensemble which performs both with the choir and independently. Details of Consort performances can be found here.
